How do the time and place in which a person lives influence his or her identity?
Learning Target:
I can demonstrate comprehension of increasingly challenging texts (both print and nonprint sources) by asking and answering literal, interpretive, and evaluative questions.
1. Opening Assignment: Complete exercise A on page 157 of the grammar book (agreement in number).
2. After reading response/reflection of "My Dungeon Shook"
3. Reflective writing prompt (connecting theme)--HOMEWORK
Write a letter to a nephew, niece, or younger sibling describing how your identity has been affected by living in Todd County.
4. Begin reading Warriors Don't Cry.
Every 5 chapters you need to complete a paragraph reflection. Once you have completed each reflection, turn it in. Please don't wait to turn them in all at once. I will be using these as an assessment guide as I chart your progress through the book. You are only required to write one paragraph per every 5 chapters, but there is a certain format for this paragraph. I will be instructing you on how to construct your paragraphs. The paragraph is a reflection of your reading, so you determine your topic and main idea.
Also, complete the study guide as you read.
We will discuss the time frame for reading Warriors Don't Cry.
5. Closing: Review what you've read.
