1.The theme is what defines any story. A story can be written greatly, but without a clear theme, plot, or anything it lacks meaning.

1) There are many things that can define a book. One thing is the person reading it. Depending on their own personal struggles and their perspective of life defines what they will get out of a book. Another thing that defines a book is the book itself. Is it philosophical? Does it make the person think about their own convictions? What would they do if they were in a certain situation? These are all questions that can define what the book means to different people.
