1. Opening Assignment: Define the following literary terms: frame story, irony (all 3 types), and imagery.
2. Introduction to Heart of Darkness: Colonization (Video and selected reading for annotation)
3. Compose a brief character sketch of Leopold II using your conclusions and details from the images in the slideshow.
4. Pass out Heart of Darkness books. Assign section 1 study guide questions.
5. Notemaking for Aristotle's definition of tragedy and the term, hubris (teaching groups)
Each group will take notes about their selected reading.
Then, each group will create a visual aid to help the class remember their selected concept/term.
Each group will create a quiz for their concept/term.
Each group will teach their concept/term using the visual aid as a guide for the class.
